Canvas Gallery Wraps
Canvas gallery wraps are super popular with both my family and wedding clients. They are classic, clean, and suit practically any decor.
Canvases are printed with a matte finish and stretched on solid pine wood for superior strength and a durable finish, and can be customized with coloured wraps or with text. Each piece comes ready to hang with a wire, no framing required, with a depth of between 0.75 and 2 inches depending on the canvas size. They are outrageously light. Believe it or not, I hang my canvases using just a thumbtack to reduce damage to my walls, which also makes them easy to move them around.
There is so much you can do with them, too! You can hang huge canvases on their own above your fireplace, hang a panel of canvases on your stairs or above a buffet, display medium-sized canvases in corners of your home which have sat empty, display mini canvases as small as 5×7 inches on bookshelves.
Designing them can even be fun! Here are a few things my clients have done with canvases to give you a bit of inspiration.
Canvas Gallery Wraps
I often notice that couples are a bit apprehensive to display wedding photos in their home because they feel vain displaying a huge portrait of themselves from their wedding. The same can be said of families, who often say they don’t want a ‘shine’ to themselves in their home. But canvases this size can easily sit above a dresser or on a small piece of empty wall. These previously untouched corners of your home will be much
Mary and Jordan, for example, had a 16×20 inch canvas from their wedding printed which now hangs in their family room.
Canvas Collages
If you can’t choose just one photo, a canvas collage might be the perfect option for you. Like the Zhu family, below. They loved a lot of photos with their sons and chose to have 2 10×10 inch canvas collages printed; one for each son’s bedroom.
These small pieces, like mini canvases, are easily transportable. 30 years from now, these boys will have these great photo memories from their childhood which can be displayed on the wall or set on a table, countertop, or shelf.
Canvas Panels
The George family opted for a canvas panel! A canvas panel is a grouping of several images which are displayed together. Like these 3 images from Lisa’s before and after sessions with her son, Alex.
If you haven’t heard their story yet, click here to check it out. In short, Alex went from having a braid, to having short hair. His mother wanted to create a memory of this transition with some photos. And hanging a canvas panel was a fantastic way to show that off in their living room. Canvas panels allow your family to change things up. Don’t like one photo anymore? Take it down, and replace it with another. Or add to your art wall over the years to create an amazing family photo wall!
Canvas Prices
Canvas prices depend entirely on size! A 5×7 inch mini canvas, for example, is $95, while a 40×40 inch canvas is $950. But you don’t have to worry about choosing the right size. This is exactly why I host in-person photo previews. I can take a photo of your wall, bring it into my computer, and create a mockup of what your photo will look like on your wall. That way I can show you multiple sizes, so that we can determine what’s best for your space, and even create great panels so that you can see the what the room will look like when everything is printed and hung.

I hope this gives you a more full idea of what canvas prints are like, and what you can do with them. I truly believe that prints are an essential part of every wedding and portrait photography package, which is why I include them in each of my collections. After all, we live in the real world! And I just wouldn’t be doing a good job for you by sending you home with a bunch of bits and bytes of data on a memory stick.
