Spend More Time With Your Family
Who would you be if you worked less?
It seems to Nikki and Sophia that most people say that their family is their number 1 priority, but that most of those people spend most of their time working in order to financially support their family. While money is one component of supporting your family, taking time away from your family in order to work directly contradicts family being your number 1 priority.
e take a closer look at how we want our lives to look and how we’re working towards that. In Nikki’s case, she couldn’t see herself being miserable in her career for 40 years. All of those horrible interviews she described in episode 1 which would have taken her away from her daughter inspired her to go into business with her sister. Starting her own business saved her hours in commuting and hundreds of dollars in child care, and she is able to be a part of important moments with her girls that she otherwise wouldn’t be if she were at work.
In this episode, we discuss how to try to set boundaries to keep work from getting in the way of family time. This includes setting time for work, leaving work at work, using focus settings on our phones to stop the constant notifications, letting voicemail take calls, and saying no more often.
